Conversion Formula
Core Equation: \( E = h \nu \) where \( h = 4.135667662 \times 10^{-15} \) eV·s (Planck’s constant).
Steps:
- Input energy \( E \) in selected unit (e.g., eV).
- Convert to eV if needed: J → eV (\( \div 1.602 \times 10^{-19} \)), keV → eV (\( \times 1000 \)).
- Compute \( \nu = \frac{E}{h} \) in Hz.
- Scale to output unit (e.g., THz = Hz / 1012).
For wavenumber: \( \nu = c \times \tilde{\nu} \) with \( c = 3 \times 10^{10} \) cm/s.
